"THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY proclaims THIS UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member States themselves and among the peoples of territories under their jurisdiction." -- (From the United Nations Resolution on Human Rights) The LORD said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people... I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them...and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey..." -- (Exodus 3: 7-8) "If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. " -- (1 Timothy 5:8) The verses above came to my mind as I was reading the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is my prayer and belief that GOD hears the suffering and cries of HIS people in North Korea and those interceding for them and as HE delivered the Israelites out of Egypt, GOD will likewise deliver HIS children from the bondage of the Communist regime. |
